I’m trying to keep the motivation going on the painting front – it’s difficult at the moment spending any time in the studio with the warm weather we are having. Rather than spend a beautiful morning indoors, I took some of my reference material (scrap books & cutouts etc) and tidied them into some folders and at the same time, lapped up a beautiful warm southerly breeze on the back deck.  I always think it’s worth being very deliberate about enjoying good weather when it does come. The winter will be long and cold and sometimes treasured memories of warmer days can be very comforting – particularly on a wet Wednesday in the middle of November!
Anyway back to the modelling; -I just took some quick snaps of the 43rd scale figures in my painting backlog on the workbench – it contains all sorts of the usual F1 suspects such as: Jackie, Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Denny Hulme, Gilles Villeneuve, Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore, Enzo Ferrari, Fernando Alonso, Michael & Ralph Schumacher, Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Kimi Raikkonen, Stirling Moss, plus a couple of trackside characters. I’ve blocked in most of the colors so in my next pass, I’ll add a bit more detail – more later.
