A common sight at the Grand Prix circuit these days is the Flag marshals decked out their colourful gear – they are a wonderful band of volunteers performing a key role during practice, qulaifying and on race day. Without them the running of a modern high octane Grand prix would be a very dangerous and confused undertaking. Out in all weathers, they use their flags to inform drivers of their track position and the ever changing track conditions around the circuit so they play an essential role throughout the event. This is a really nice figure from the Denizen range which I have modified with metal foil to give him a tabard or bib denoting his role in the event. The location of the event is often denoted with the national flag and following my recent visit to Hockenheim, I decided to use the German flag on his tabard. Once again he’s painted up in acrylics – enjoy.
