Up on the “Bay” at the moment is this 1/18 scale resin figure of the late great Fangio. Â I’ve depicted him in an “After race” state ie, showing signs of the dirt and grime he would have endured during a long Grand Prix driving flat out in the heat and exhaust fumes from his own all the other cars he would have been battling with. Â Not that he would have been behind them in the race, more likely he would have been lapping them! Â The process of creating this worn finish involves the careful application of a series of transparent tonal glazes or washes, which retains the integrity of the original paint finish but at the same time, it creates a faded worn look.
