These are a couple of driver helmets from the Denizen range in 1/43 scale I found lurking at the side of the bench – so I painted them up in some of the more recognizable liveries – ie Hill, Amon, Cevert (in the early days he didn’t put his name on the helmet!) He has to be one of the “coolest” of F1 drivers – always slightly ruddy and dishevelled with a “devil may care” look sporting stylish aviator sunglasses and the regulation Marlboro hanging from the side of his mouth – a mixture of Steve McQueen and James Dean! :Wikipedia I’ve been enjoying doodling for the last two days using just pencil and paper (something I haven’t done for many years) so it’s nice to be re-united with my base skills -very relaxing. An original pencil sketch 18×12 inches approx (12 x 8 when mounted). The photo shows the full uncropped sketch. Another version of the Jo Siffert figure – this time without sunglasses! “Wiki” links blow povid more details: Joseph Siffert (July 7, 1936 – October 24, 1971) was a Swiss racing driver. Affectionately known as “Seppi” to his family and close friends, Siffert was born in Fribourg, Switzerland, the son of a dairy owner. He initially made his name in racing on two wheels, powering his way to the Swiss 350 cc motorcycle championship in 1959, before switching to four wheels with a Formula Junior Stanguellini.
